Massage Therapy
Touching hands are not like pharmaceuticals or scalpels. They are like flashlights in a darkened room. The medicine they administer is self-awareness. And for many of our painful conditions, this is the aid that is most urgently needed. -- Deanne Juhan, from "Job's Body" Tension, fatigue and confusion are washed away. With tender persistence, I work as your mind becomes serene, your muscles and bones renegotiate, and your spirit is restored. I offer everything from relaxation massage to deeper work, according to your need and preference. I will probably use essential oils during our time together. If you have essential oil sensitivities please let me know. Also, I incorporate shiatsu, reflexology and Deep Massage – developed by David Lauterstein – with Swedish massage techniques. Your session always includes a touch of Reiki. 60 minutes: $100 90 minutes: $135 Reiki (pronounced "Ray-key")
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words: Rei, which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki, which is "life force energy." So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy." -- from Reiki.org While you will receive Reiki during any of my massage sessions, a concentrated Reiki session is especially effective during emotional upset, major transitions, or if you desire healing and transformation on all levels. There are a variety of ways you might experience this simple, peaceful energy work. You will probably feel heat from my hands, to start with. Then, you might feel something like electricity flowing through your body. You might see colors, or feel strong emotions. You might feel very relaxed and fall asleep, and when you wake up, think, “Oh I feel much better." There is no disrobing required for Reiki. I lay my hands along your body in various positions, and the Reiki flows, wordlessly bringing all things back into balance and giving you peace and fresh insight. 60 minutes: $100 |
Gift Certificates Yes, I do offer gift certificates for any of the services mentioned here. A word to the gift certificate purchaser: Please consider well whether or not the person you wish to gift will actually USE it. There's nothing that saddens me more than someone spending money for an appt with me that no one redeems. If you purchase a gift certificate with me and the person you gift does not use the gift certificate WITHIN TWO YEARS, please contact me and use that gift certificate for yourself! A word to the gift certificate receiver: The state of Maine says there is no expiration date for gift certificates or cards, but as for me, I say that if you have not used your gift certificate WITHIN TWO YEARS, it is null and void. If you wish to re-gift this certificate to another person, please communicate that to me and I will happily honor your request. Package deals Two 60-minute sessions for $190: a $10 savings. Four 60-minute sessions for $380: a $20 savings. Two 90-minute sessions for $260: a $10 savings. Four 90-minute sessions for $520: a $20 savings. Cancellation Policy
I understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s life. Business meetings, project deadlines, flight delays, car problems, snowstorms, and illness are just a few reasons why one might consider canceling an appointment, not to mention COVID-19 (if you think you're in ANY way sick, I do not want to see you! You can cancel w/o fear of fees)
In my desire to be effective and fair to all of my clients -- and keeping my own needs in mind -- I have adopted the following policies: 1. 24 hour advance notice is required when canceling an appointment (exception: sudden illness, COVID-19 or other emergency). This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment. 2. If you are unable to give me 24 hours advance notice you will be charged the full amount of your appointment. A missed appointment that was paid for already, by gift certificate or other means, will be forfeit. Out of respect and consideration to me and other clients, please plan accordingly. |
